Redsith’s Maul is a powerful creature who knows when and how to unleash his violence.

Redsith has been writing fan-fic for some years now, and says of her Maul, “I’ve never seen Maul as just a mindless Sith warrior.  He’s smart.  He trained to be the second most powerful person in the universe and fully expected to be *the* most powerful person one day.  He has control of an awesome dark power, but he doesn’t abuse it just to be cruel.  He uses it to achieve his goals, and he’s very focused on whatever his goal at the time might be.”

Redsith started writing about Maul, because, as she says, “I was angry that a character as vibrant and alive with as much potential as Maul, was unnecessarily, unbelievably sacrificed in Phantom Menace.  Emily was my way of bringing him back to life.”
