Lady Sythe is a regular contributor to the Fan-Art pages on DMEB-2, and produces some outstanding artwork. In 2003 she turned her talents to writing, and with Maaike, developed the story entitled "Vengeance".

We asked Lady Sythe why she depicted this evil warrior in the manner she chose, and her answer has a theme common with many writers on this site:

"I didn't write serious fan fiction, SW in particular, until Episode I: The Phantom Menace. I was utterly inspired by the Sith Lord Darth Maul. It was HIM that caught my attention...and that of my artistic skills and imagination.

What I saw in Darth Maul was something not every one notices: passion, intense emotion, honor, dignity, loyalty, romance...and yes, even love. I try to follow the way Maul is portrayed in the movie, book, e-book and comic book, but adding more to the character. I believe Darth Maul is capable of love and of showing gentleness and attentiveness to those he holds very dear to him. He is art in motion, moving in the dance of death, and never again will there be such a character in the SW universe. And, of course, Maul is an extremely sexual being. He pleasures his woman, treating her with such love and passion, as she does so in return.

Maul is also a complex man. I could never really be able to delve into the entire rainbow of colors that makes up my favorite and most beloved Zabrak Sith Lord. But most, above all things, Maul never dies in my stories - and if he does...he is always present in some manner.

I´ve been greatly inspired by the works of Maaike, Dark Lady, and Pera´gana of the original DMEB, to name a few. Maaike for her use in romance, ritual and warrior ways; Dark Lady for her use of detail, way of writing, and Pera´gana for the way her stories were fun, yet grabbed the mind's eye. The others, bring me the same. I would, of course, like to thank you all who were my inspiration."

And there we have it. Yet more creativity inspired by the enigmatic character of Darth Maul, so violently written out of The Phantom Menace, in which he stole the show so completely from the Jedi.
