Mary-el is an artist from the Los Angeles area of California. She paints mostly in oils. “I have been drawing and painting all my life and am largely self taught (if you do anything obsessively long enough, you'll eventually get decent at it, right?) ”

Her other interests include “comparative religion, mysticism, philosophy, theology, anthropology and modern and ancient arts.” All of which she has drawn upon in the creation of her art.

“Red Maul” is her latest Maul work. We're hoping for many, many more!

*“Gold Maul”* is a departure from her usual media of oil paint. She created this image by manipulating the original picture from *The Phantom Menace* in PhotoShop!

Now we need to talk her into creating a Tarot deck for Star Wars! Featuring Darth Maul of course!
